Obituary for Delores Fern Gibson

A Celebration of Life will be held for Delores Fern Gibson, 83, at Mill Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church, Mill Creek, OK, at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021, with Samantha Sikes officiating. Cremation with Care is under the direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton, OK.

Delores (Lois) was born in Comanche, OK on June 29, 1938, to Winnie (Jean) Latham. She departed this life surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Wilson Nursing Center in Wilson, OK.

Lois was raised in Wilson, OK and graduated from Wilson High School in 1958. She then moved to Ringling, OK and married Verdo Gibson on October 22, that same year. They will celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary in heaven on Friday. They made their home in Ringling until 1965, after that they worked in Poolville, Marietta, Mill Creek and Sulphur. They retired and moved to Lone Grove in 2009.

Lois worked at Moore Drug in Ringling immediately after graduation She was employed by Stromberg Carlson in Gene Autry, and several sewing factories. She retired as an operator for Chickasaw Telephone in Sulphur, OK after 20 years. Her most accomplished job was raising her family. She enjoyed family most. She also enjoyed fishing, sewing, and watching any sport that involved her grandkids or great grandkids.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Verdo Gibson, her mother, Jean Rausin; step DAD, Lovell Rausin; brother, Wesley (Butch) Jones; sister, Mary Baucom: and great grand-angels.

Survivors include: daughters, Pamela Sue Matthews and husband Jeff of Lone Grove, OK; LaVonda Ann Gibson and spouse, Jesse Serna of Davis, OK; son, William Lewis Gibson and wife, Kendra of Russett, OK; Grandchildren, LeAnn Gibson, Emily and Jarrin Birch, Shianne Smith and Chad, Ryan Gibson, Aaron Hamilton, Shania Gibson, and Pepper Gibson; Great grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Haven, Eli, Ruby, Hadley, and Waylon; sister Cheryl Wilkes and husband, Carlen of Ardmore; brother-in-law, Max Gibson, Ringling, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
