Obituary for Vedabelle Clour (Skaggs)
Fox - Funeral Services for Mrs. Vedabelle "Veda" (Skaggs) Clour, 93 of Ratliff City are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Fox First Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
Veda was born October 28, 1928 in Seminole, OK to the late Mr. Thurston Clarence Skaggs and Mrs. Myrtle Irene (Turner) Skaggs. She departed from this life on Friday, December 31, 2021 in Duncan, OK.
Veda graduated from Maud High School in 1946 attending college at Oklahoma A&M where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1950. Veda started teaching at Port, OK where she taught Home Economics and also taught at Wanette and Stratford too. Veda also taught Homebound students at Fox Public School for 7 years. Veda married Mr. Lucien "Luke" Clour on July 22, 1955 at Stratford. He departed from this life on April 5, 2011. She sewed for the public for many years. Veda was always working in her yard and most happy and proud of her flower garden. Veda was a long-time faithful member of the Fox First Baptist Church since 1971.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Luke and her son in law, Jerry Teters.
Veda is survived by her daughters, Luciann Balch and husband Doug of Duncan and Robin Teters of Oklahoma City; and by a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4-6 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
