Obituary for James Randyal Archer

Wilson - Funeral Services for Mr. James Randyal Archer, 81, of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Larry Argo officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton.

James Randyal was born March 3, 1940, at Ada to the late Mr. James "Jim" Archer and Mrs. Ethel Pernita (Laxton) Archer. He departed this life on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Healdton.

James Randyal was raised at Western Oklahoma graduating from Ron High School in 1958. He married Ms. Danny Kaye Ripley and they were blessed with 3 children, James, Shannon and Elizabeth. Later in life, James Randyal would remarry the former Eva Staggs on June 3, 1968, and they were blessed with another child named David. They moved to Ardmore in 1972 and he gained employment at Big Chief Shingle Factory, retiring in 2003. They purchased a farm in Lone Grove in the early 80's where he enjoyed farming and gardening as long as he was able. He was always a very hard worker and loved raising cattle and fresh produce. James Randyal was a member of the Assembly of God Churches.

Preceding him in death are his parents; daughter, Elizabeth; siblings, Roy, Dorothy, Wanda, Julie and Betty; and a great grandson, Broady.

Survivors include his wife Eva (Staggs) Archer of the home; sons, James David Archer of Healdton and David Archer of Flint, Michigan; daughter, Shannon Studeman and husband Ricky of Lone Grove; brother, John Archer and wife Melanie of Moore; sister, Laura Staggs and husband Don of Wyandotte; grandchildren, Jamie Gaither, Danny Archer and wife Ashley, James Archer and wife Rae, Cris Byers, Lindsey Velasquez and husband Corey, and Brianna Studeman, Presley, Piper, and Alandria; great grandchildren, Jaydan, Gracie, Aubree, Alan, John, Allie, Fisher, Ethan, Jaden, Genny, Coby, and Skyler, ; numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be James Archer, Danny Archer, Cris Byers, Johnny Archer, Tony Staggs, Gary Staggs, Rodney Gaither and Stanley Staggs.

Honorary bearers are his great grandsons.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
