Obituary for Don Wilfred Bullard

Wilson - Funeral Services for Mr. Don W. Bullard, 88, of Ardmore are scheduled for 1:30pm Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at the New Hope Baptist Church of Duncan with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating and grandson Collin Bullard assisting. The family request that the burial be private following the service at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Don was born Sept. 1, 1933, at Loco to the late Mr. Sidney Wilfred Bullard and Mrs. Laura Dale (Knight) Bullard. He departed this life on Wed. Jan. 19, 2022, at his home in Ardmore.

Don lost an arm as a young boy. This was not a handicap for him, but rather motivated him to be better. His determination, his unique character, his intelligence and his gift of mechanics, set him on a path to success. Everyone who met Don, remembers him.

Don loved a good story and told many. He admired and loved his brother Melvin, and was greatly influenced by his uncles, father and his mother. Don's bank accounts and home were always open to those in need. Some of his beliefs were, "Doing the right thing for the right reason usually has a positive outcome", "God is on my side", Most of the things you worry about, never happen, and "Before you tell yourself you can't, ask yourself if you could if your life depended upon it". Don also said, his father taught him how to make money and his mother taught him how to give it away. He will be remembered on earth and celebrated in Heaven with many who have gone before him...

Preceding him in death are his parents, son, Bobby Bullard and a brother, Melvin Bullard.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna Hunt and husband Gaylan of Duncan; son, Jimmy Don Bullard and wife Jennifer of Tuttle; six outstanding grandsons and one precious little granddaughter; numerous other family and friends. Don's family wants to extend their appreciation to their dad's caregiver, confidante and dear friend, Roger Talley and lifelong friend Joyce (Griffith) Ellis and Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore for their love and care.

Casket bearers are Collin Bullard, Christopher Bullard, Brian Bullard, Logan Bullard, Jason Hunt and Brenton Hunt.

Honorary bearers are Hamp Baker, Joe Warren, Kenny Pickelsimer, George Shields, Steve Owens, Jim Bennett, LaWayne Jones and Rob McDonald.
