Obituary for Gwendolyn "Gwen" Spellman (Waller)

Healdton - Funeral Services for Mrs. Gwendolyn "Gwen" (Waller) Spellman, 83 of Healdton, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Shell Street Church of Christ with Danny Huntsman officiating. Interment will follow to Mount Olive Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.

Gwen was born December 19, 1938 in Loco, OK on the homeplace to the late Mr. Robert Henry Waller and Mrs. Willie (Taylor) Waller. She departed from this life on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in Denton, TX.

Gwen was raised at Dillard attending school at Wilson Public Schools until her sophomore year when she moved to Lawton. She graduated from Lawton High School in 1957. Soon after graduation, she attended Cameron State Agricultural College for 2 years. Gwen married the late Sgt. Gene T. Spellman on July 10, 1964. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1980. She worked as a secretary for the civil service in Fort Sill, within the health industry, but most recently she worked for the city of Healdton and the Shell Street Church of Christ Church. Gwen enjoyed traveling and spending time with church members, visiting with family, going to her grandchildren sporting events and she enjoyed a time she got to watch and listen to her grandson Sean play in his band. Most of all, Gwen was known for her strong Christian faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Gene Spellman; 2 sisters, and 6 brothers.

Gwen is survived by her children, Gene Spellman and wife Julie of Edmond, Liana Dewberry and husband Brett of Blanchard, and Donn Spellman and wife Sandy of Healdton; grandchildren, Sean Spellman and wife Vanessa, Matthew Dewberry and Ashley Burns, Donn Robert Spellman II, Brandon Dewberry, Carson Dewberry, Paige Dewberry, and Bella Spellman; and by a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Sean Spellman, Matthew Dewberry, Brandon Dewberry, Carson Dewberry, Donn Robert Spellman II, Donn Spellman, and Gene Spellman.

Honorary bearers will be Paige Dewberry and Bella Spellman.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
