Obituary for Alice Angela "Angie" (Luetkahans) Loard

Wilson - Alice Angela "Angie" (Luetkahans) Loard, of Lone Grove, departed this life on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at her residence in Lone Grove at the age of 76 years, 10 months, and 7 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Alexander Gray Funeral Chapel of Wilson with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.

Angie was born to the late Mr. Bill H. Luetkahans and Mrs. Dreta M. (White) Luetkahans on June 27th, 1945 in Wapanucka, OK.

Angie was raised at Lone Grove and graduated from Lone Grove High School with the Class of 1963. She was an excellent basketball player wearing #44. She and Mr. Troy Loard were united in marriage on June 1, 1964 at the First Baptist Church of Lone Grove. They were the first couple to get married there in that building. They remained in the Lone Grove area most of their lives residing North of town since 1970. Angie was employed with the Lone Grove Schools, where she was a teacher's assistant of the Native American Art program. She retired from there to care for her grandson, Austin after he was born. Thereafter she went back to work at Black Gold Casino of Wilson as the Assistant Manager for a few years. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, doing artwork, and had received several awards for her work. Angie was also an avid OU Sooners fan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Clayton Loard, son, Gary Loard; 2 brothers, Harold and Billy Luetkahans; and a sister, Donna Webb.

Angie is survived by her husband, Troy Loard of the home; son, Johnny Loard and wife Carol of Idabel; sister, Lana Tubbs of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Aspen Conn and Logan and their son, Chism, Gage Loard, Austin Loard, and Clay Loard; numerous other relatives and friends.

Serving as casket bearers will be Austin Loard, Gage Loard, Logan Conn, Clay Loard, Randy Kelty, and Arthur Farve.

Visitation will be held from 6 - 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 6, 2022 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
