Obituary for Lowell Lonnon

William Lowell Lonnon, of Ratliff City, departed this life on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at his residence near Ratliff City at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 29 days. A celebration of life will be held at the family residence near Ratliff City on June 11, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. to 4 P.M. Cremation services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Lowell was born to the late Mr. Robert Lowell Lonnon and Mrs. Louise Matilda (Fairbanks) on June 12, 1941 in Bement, IL.

Lowell was raised in Decatur, IL where he attended Eisenhour High School and graduated with the Class of 1959. He then attended college for one year before enlisting in the United States Army in 1960. Lowell and Mrs. Marthalee (Grolla) Lonnon were united in marriage on August 20, 1961 and would start their own family. Mr. Lonnon was dedicated to his work and was known to be a workaholic. He had worked in several different occupations. He owned and operated his own businesses making graphics and selling oil well pumps. He had a passion for traveling and sailing as often as he could. He and Marthalee had moved from Decatur, IL to Decatur, TX where he was an on-air radio personality for KWCS in Bridgeport, TX. They moved around to several places during their 60 years of marriage. Lowell had most recently made his home in Ratliff City.

Lowell is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Louise (Fairbanks) Lonnon.

He is survived by his wife Marthalee Lonnon of the home; daughter, Tina Carroll and her husband Doug of Ratliff City; son, Randy L. Lonnon and wife Mary of Euless, TX; 5 grandchildren, Jamie Vanderlinden; Teresa Webster, Kerri Lonnon, Kasey Lonnon, and Zack Lonnon; seven great grandchildren, Cole, Hallie, Kelly, Zayne, Conner, Kyler, and Collin. Many other relatives and friends.
