Our Heritage
Richeson Funeral Home was established in 1926 by the Richeson family who owned and operated "Richeson Furniture and Undertaking" located in Wilson. Then families were assisted by the "undertaker" by providing a casket and simply delivering it to the home of the deceased and then most of the time families would provide the rest of the care needed. As times changed and by 1926, the Richeson family realized that much more was needed than just a casket. So in the year of 1926, Richeson Funeral Home located in Wilson, Ok opened its doors as the first full operative funeral home providing care to many families in the oilfield communities.
By 1947 Richeson Funeral Home had become a well established firm and sold its operations to Mr. Homer Leslie. Mr. Leslie and his wife Wanda operated the funeral home under the name Leslie Funeral Home until 1976. During those years of sucessful operations Mr. Leslie opened a branch in Ringling, OK. Before then an operation was shared by the Collier Bros. Homer was very proud of establishing long term relationships with many families in the area. Retiring in 1976, Ronald Alexander and wife Joy Linn returned to this area and purchased Leslie Funeral Home. Ron and Joy Linn remodeled both facilities and worked side by side for many years creating a well established name for Alexander Funeral Home that still holds true today.
In 1999 a 3rd operation was added to its line of establishments "Milburn Funeral Home" locate din Ratliff City. Now Alexander Funeral Home provided three locations covering Love, Stephens, Carter, and Jefferson counties.
In 2006 Ron and Joy Linn added a partner to assume operations. Zane Gray and wife Sherry moved back home in 2006 and have became part of the longtime caring tradition that has always been available to families in this area. Still operating under Alexander Funeral Home, Zane has seen amazing things happen in this area and is happy to be helping many of his friends and family at a critical time.
