Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Gary Don Mitchell, 49, of Orr are scheduled for 2pm Monday July 25, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Bro. Joe Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Crow Cemetery south of Orr. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Gary Don was born Dec. 26, 1966 at Ardmore to the late Mr. H.L. Mitchell and Mrs. Linda Kay (Pearson) Mitchell. He departed this life on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Ringling.
Gary was raised in Ringling attending school here. He married the former Ms. Sherri Michelle Needham on July 5, 1985 at the Graham Assembly of God Church. Afterwards Gary joined the United States Army and served honorably for a short while before being medically discharged. He returned to this area and mostly always worked in the Oilfield as a roughneck. Gary Don was injured on a drilling rig in 1998, losing his right arm. He never let this disability disable him from doing the things he loved. He continued to work and adjusted his ways so he still fish and hunt. He loved raising chickens and shooting guns. Gary was of the Pentecostal faith.
Preceding him in death is his Parents, Mr. H.L. Mitchell- June 7, 2007 and Mrs. Linda Mitchell
on June 1, 2012.
Survivors include his wife Sherri of the home; 3 children, Forrest Mitchell and wife Misty, Ashley Branch and husband T.J. and Dakota Mitchell and Mikayla Greenroyd, all of Ringling. 4 grandchildren, Cayley, Zeth, J-Leigh and Raelyn; Sister, Terrace Mitchell of Ardmore; Brother, Kelly Mitchell of Ringling; Grandfather, Hershel Mitchell of Ardmore; Parents in law, Gaylene and Doyle Dewbre of Fox; numerous other family and friends.
Casket Bearers will be Joby Barnes, Troy Thompson, Llew Brooks, Keith Dean, Guy Patty and Wesley Jones.
Honorary Bearers are Braxton Wade, Joe Lester, Jr. Timothy Branch, Sr. and Gary Joe Cox.
Family visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ringling.
