Bobby Wayne "Bob"  Norton
Memorial Services for Bobby Wayne “Bob” Norton, 71 are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Assembly of God Church in Wilson with the Rev. Michael Tom officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson. A private inurnment will be at Hewitt Cemetery.

Bob Norton passed away on August 13, 2016 in Wilson. He was born December 23rd 1944 in Wilson to Denham & Clara (Lewellen) Norton. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1963 where he was a standout football player for the Wilson Eagles. He was united in marriage to Vera Bell (Bray) on December 23, 2009. He retired after 18 years from AT&T, after which he helped start NorCo-Ardmore Telecom in Ardmore. Later he pursued one of his passions and started his own business, Cowboys & Indians Barbeque in Lone Grove. He was an active member in the Assembly of God Church in Wilson, where he would volunteer to cook barbecue for many events. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and a proud OU fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Vera. He is survived by son Bobby Norton of Noble, daughter Holly Chronister and husband John of Noble, and daughter Dani Norton of Dallas, TX.; grandchildren Amber Caldwell and fiancé Mitchell Wade of Foley, AL, and Rachel Chronister of Noble; Vera’s children Donna Witt of Lone Grove, Dwayne Bell of Oklahoma City, Vickie Breshears of Oklahoma City, and Valerie Thornton of Lakeland, FL.; best friend, Wayne Dowdy and wife Peggy of Wilson; and numerous other family and friends.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to Peggy & Wayne Dowdy, Kenny Bray, Sonny & Beth Tucker, and the many other friends and family that helped over the last few months.
Honorary bearers are his WHS class of 1963.
